The Institute specialises in security and development issues in Asia, the Caucasus and Turkey. The Institutes strength and depth of knowledge lies in its strong in-country and regional networks.

The Institute has a number of staff members working in the field in: Tbilisi, Istanbul, Beijing, Yangon and Washington. The unique network that the Institute possesses strengthens its analytical capacity and ability to gather information, as it becomes available.
